When: July 7 - July 25 2025

Format: Three classes per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) that are 3.5 hours each, with two scheduled work sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays to keep on task facilitated through the Animation Tutor Discord. Homework assigned with each class, with some class time reserved for beginning the work.

Variations of Camp: Sign up for “Just the Camp” or “Camp + Extra Mentorship Sessions”. The latter includes 6 x 1-hour private review sessions to continue improving your artwork beyond the three weeks of the camp. These additional sessions can be booked any time you’d like directly on our calendar. These are highly recommended to get the most out of the camp. These sessions are normally $95 / session, so you get one for free by including them with the camp.

What will you learn?

  • The production workflow of an animated production

  • Helpful storytelling techniques to create living, breathing worlds

  • Expert guidance on creating engaging, dynamic characters for animation

  • Perspective wizardry that will make this highly technical practice less technical and more creative

  • 2D hand-drawn animation the will bring your characters to life, one keyframe at a time!

  • Industry-level experience from a working animator and illustrator

  • Workflow expectations for contemporary artists working in the entertainment industries

  • Comradery working alongside fellow young artists that are all striving to improve

What will you need?

  • Communication apps: Zoom, Discord, Google Calendar, Gmail (preferred)

  • Webcam + Microphone (microphone is more important)

  • Decent computer (preferably PC) capable of high-resolution digital drawing (4K resolution at least - 3840 x 2160)

  • Preferably Adobe Photoshop with Lazy Nezumi plugin (all demonstrations will occur with Photoshop, but will mostly be translatable to different drawing software)

  • PureRef for building a photo reference library

  • Animation software (Adobe Animate, TV Paint Animation, ToonBoom Harmony, Procreate Dreams not base Procreate)

  • Sketchbook and drawing materials for the tradigital artists out there!
